Daibutsuden, the Great Buddha Hall.
Built first in the 8th century, destroyed twice by fire (1180 and 1567)
and rebuilt in 1692 much smaller than the original.
Nevertheless, it was the largest wooden structure in the world until 1998 ... almost 50 m tall.
